Privacy Policy

This site (amandalore.com) is the public author page for Amanda Lore. If you visit, sign up for the newsletter, or send a message through the contact form, this page explains what happens to your information. I aim to collect as little as possible and treat what you share with care.

This policy is written to comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). If you're reading from elsewhere in the world, the same practices apply — I don't treat data differently based on where you live.

What I collect

Newsletter signup:your email address, and optionally your first name if you provide it. That's it.

Contact form: your name, email address, and the content of the message you send.

Automatically: basic, anonymized visit data (page views, country, device type) through Vercel Analytics. This data does not use cookies and cannot be tied back to you personally.

How I use it

Newsletter emails are used to send you occasional updates about new books, releases, and behind-the-scenes writing news — nothing else. Contact form messages are read and replied to by me personally. Analytics data helps me understand which pages readers find useful.

I don't sell your data. I don't rent it. I don't share it with advertisers. Ever.

Who processes your data

To run this site, I use a few trusted third-party services. They see your data only for the purpose described:

• MailerLite — stores newsletter subscriber emails and sends the newsletter on my behalf.
• Resend — delivers contact form messages to my inbox.
• Vercel — hosts the website and provides anonymized traffic analytics.
• Cloudflare — manages the domain and DNS routing.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. If you want to review them, they're publicly available on each company's website.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:

• Ask what personal information I hold about you
• Request a copy of it
• Correct anything that's wrong
• Ask me to delete it
• Withdraw consent at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@amandalore.com. For newsletter subscribers, every email also contains a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom.

How long I keep it

Newsletter subscribers stay on the list until you unsubscribe. Contact form messages are retained in my inbox as long as they're relevant to our correspondence, then archived or deleted. Analytics data is kept for a rolling window managed by Vercel.

Security

I use reputable services that maintain industry-standard security practices for the data they hold on my behalf. That said, no system on the internet is perfectly secure. If something ever goes wrong that affects your information, I'll notify you as promptly as I'm able.

Readers under 14

This site and its content are intended for adult readers. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 14. If you believe a young reader has submitted information here, please contact me and I'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If I update how I handle your data, this page will be revised and the effective date at the top will change. For significant changes, newsletter subscribers will be notified by email.
